The ‘Dooars‘ or ‘Duars‘ are the alluvial flood plains in eastern and northeastern India, and southern Bhutan (though I could suprisingly also penetrate the Nepal region enroute to Mirik region (that showed NEPAL – 0 Kms !!!) and catching International roaming charges notifications to the sudden shock of my husband !!
The timeless ‘Duars’ lie south of the outer foothills of the Himalayas and the north of Brahmaputra River basin . The region is about 30 km wide and stretches over about 350 kms from the Teesta River in Weste Bengal to the Dhansiri River in Udalguri district of Assam .
This place is ideal for eco-tourism, wild life safari’s , Tea plantations and breathtaking scenic experiences !
